How To Be Prepared

1: Your Presentation: Five Minute Rapid Report

Regardless of delivery, your presentation content should include the following points:

-Experiment Type: Twitter or Listening
-What were the objectives, audience, and how did integrate with your marketing or audience development plan?
-What were some tactics that you tried?
-What were the results?
-If you could do this experiment all over again, what would you do differently?
-What was your big ah ha or insight that you'll use in your next social media strategy?

Please prepare a one-page with bullet points or text on a word document and bring on USB stick to the workshop.

2: Decide Your Preferred Delivery Style

Option 1: Small Group/Speed Geek

Speed geeking is a great way to quickly view a lot of presentations in a short time. The 5 minute limit also keeps presentations short and interesting. All the presenters are arranged in a large circle along the edge of the room. The remaining members of the audience stand in the center and are assigned to each presentation, ideally 5-7 per presentation. The facilitator rings a bell to start proceedings. Each group goes to one of the presenters. Presenters have 5 minutes, to give their presentation and 3 minutes to answer questions. At the end of the eight minutes, the facilitator rings a bell. At this point, each group moves over to the presenter to their right and the timer starts once more. The session ends when every group has attended all the presentations.

Option 2: Full Group Presentations

Presenters will present to the whole group. Each presenter will have 5 minutes to present and 3 three minutes to answer a question.

Use PowerPoint
The presenter may use powerpoint using a modified Ignite or Pecha Kucha style.
The modified version is to include 10 slides - mostly visuals w/ a few phrases and spend no longer than 30 seconds on each slide.
You must bring your Powerpoint on a USB stick to the workshop.

Verbal only
Do a verbal presentation using an index card for each question, with two points per card.

Since you all work in the arts, you are welcome to do a brief skit, present your case study in the form of poetry or performance art or whatever other artistic format you wish. The only rules are that you have to answer the questions and it has to be five minutes or shorter.

3: Sign Up For Your Presenter Spot

On the agenda, there are six or seven spots for each time slot. You can get choose what style of delivery and when you want to go. Please sign up no later than June 9th.
